Booking Through Thursday

Booking Through Thursday

Question: Name a book you love in a genre you normally don't care for. What made you decide to read it? Did it make you want to try more in that genre?

I try to read different genres, but one I didn't think I would like is Dracula by Bram Stoker. It would have to be good for me to try it again.

Question: What genre do you avoid reading and why?

I think memoirs and horror, they are my least favorite.

  2. I don't enjoy horror, although I've gone there for a challenge. I actually enjoy many memoirs, but I think I overdid it, judging by the books on my stacks that are still unread!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  3. I like horror but I don't anticipate the extreme or I will imagine and thinking about it and have a nightmare. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I like horror, but sometimes it can be too off base. Memoirs have been hit or miss for me. Sometimes I hate them, but I've read a few pretty awesome ones. I feel like someone has to have had a really strange life and be able to write well for a memoir to grab me. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. If I have to choose between memoirs and horror I probably would try horror in the end. There's something about memoirs that make them some of my least favorites too.

  9. I am not much for reading horror stories but recently I've come across really good ones. If you want try reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls on my recommendation. I thought that was great :)

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

  12. I once read a book called Tsar by Ted Bell. It was an espionage book. I was drawn to it by the title (I love Russian stuff) and because there are a number of espionage movies that I enjoy. Unfortunately, all this did was make me realize how much I do NOT enjoy espionage books. They're just not much cup of tea. I've tried a few others since but I don't think I've finished any of them. :( Like I said, just not my thing. :D Great question!
